Artist’s Statement:
I Dream of the Heights is my love letter to Washington Heights.
Twenty-four photographs and twenty-four poems pay homage to the intergenerational and immigrant stories that shape the northern edge of Manhattan. The images, made on an iPhone a decade ago and pushed through layers of digital transformation, feel like frames escaped from films that were never made. The verses arrived years later, giving voice to the characters and binding them into a single book. Together, they trace what disappears, what returns, and what stays behind.
