Back on Etsy

Front and back cover of, GothAM, my handmade mini zine.

I closed my Etsy shop after wrapping up the Everyday 21 project four years ago. Back then, the platform—riding high on the eCommerce wave—made some questionable decisions that didn’t sit right with me.

I changed my mind about Etsy after exhibiting at the Jersey Art Book Fair, where I met some great people I never would’ve crossed paths with otherwise.

It reminded me: as an independent publisher and artist, a marketplace isn’t just for buying and selling—it’s for finding your tribe.

Almost every lasting relationship I have started with a chance encounter—with people I didn’t know I needed, in a place I hadn’t planned to be.

Make plans, fate laughs.

Marketplaces—online or off—are, at their worst, still a great excuse to laugh at plans.
